The Program
Utilizing a 12-step philosophy, the Outpatient Program is divided into three separate phases. In the first eight weeks, clients and their families attend the Primary Care phase of the Program. During this phase clients attend four sessions weekly with a focus on disease education, identification of relapse triggers, and an introduction to the 12-steps. In addition, staff develops an individual treatment plan addressing family, school and individual barriers to recovery. Following Primary Care, clients attend the Continuing Care phase of the Outpatient Program during months three through six. By assessing the clients’ weekly progress, attendance during the Continuing Care phase is determined by the clients’ individual counselor. For most clients, attendance will be required at least twice weekly. The focus during Continuing Care is on relapse prevention and the practical application of learned recovery tools. During the last six months clients attend the weekly Peer Support Group and are welcomed to attend Community Reintegration activities offered once a month and scheduled on the weekend.
Clients must consent to random drug testing throughout their stay at the Outpatient Center. Drug testing will be performed at staff discretion.
The Family Program
The Outpatient Family Program is an integral part of the treatment process. This component is conducted every Tuesday with a licensed therapist. During the Primary and Continuing Care phase of the Program, family members attend two groups weekly, a Multi-Family Group and a Family Therapy session. These groups address issues such as communication, conflict, and healthy boundaries. Individual sessions with clients and their families are scheduled as needed. The goal of the Family Program is simple- to help adolescents and their families get well and realize a new vision for their future.
